But after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/white-house-working-with-reporters-to-reshape-coverage-of-economic-woes-under-biden-as-approval-sinks-report\">report<\/a> this week showed that the White House was allegedly meeting with media outlets to help \u201creshape\u201d coverage of the economy, all of the sudden, several media outlets started touting this economy as one of the strongest ever.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/white-house-working-with-reporters-to-reshape-coverage-of-economic-woes-under-biden-as-approval-sinks-report\">reported<\/a> that \u201cDemocrat President Joe Biden\u2019s administration is reportedly meeting privately behind the scenes with journalists to change the coverage it is getting on the supply chain crisis and other economic woes that have been a serious issue for Biden as his approval ratings continue to plummet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As noted by The Daily Wire, CNN had the first scoop:<\/p>\n<p><em>The White House, not happy with the news media\u2019s coverage of the supply chain and economy, has been working behind the scenes trying to reshape coverage in its favor. Senior White House and admin officials \u2014 including NEC Deputy Directors David Kamin and Bharat Ramamurti, along with Ports Envoy John Porcari \u2014 have been briefing major newsrooms over the past week, a source tells me.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The officials have been discussing with newsrooms trends pertaining to job creation, economic growth, supply chains, and more. The basic argument that has been made: That the country\u2019s economy is in much better shape than it was last year. I\u2019m told the conversations have been productive, with anchors and reporters and producers getting to talk with the officials\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Then, CNBC\u2019s Jim Cramer stated on his TV show \u201cMad Money\u201d on Thursday that the economy was \u201cstronger than [he\u2019s] ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all, to me, we have the strongest economy perhaps I have ever seen. Did you see that number this morning? That unemployment number? It\u2019s the best in years, the best since \u201969,\u201d Cramer stated.<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cWe have all spotted the endless help wanted signs, the housing and apartment shortages, the tremendous demand for goods and services \u2014 a marvel to behold. Oh, people are confident about their jobs, I say fantastic, and the ability to [even] get better ones if they want to. No?<\/p>\n<p>Then perhaps you\u2019re part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/s.wsj.net\/public\/resources\/documents\/Baseline%20Nationwide%20Poll%20Nov%202021.pdf\">61% of American voters<\/a> who believe the economy is heading in the wrong direction.<\/p>\n<p>But Cramer has \u2014 more or less \u2014 gone off the deep end recently. Last week, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cnbc-host-we-should-have-military-enforce-universal-vaccination\">said<\/a> the military should enforce a vaccine mandate, and those who didn\u2019t want the vaccine should have to make their case in court.<\/p>\n<p>But Cramer wasn\u2019t the only one saying that we have a great economy. Before seasonal adjustments, claims actually rose by nearly 64,000 to almost 281,000.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Still, Stanley said in a research note that \u201cthe underlying trend remains downward and should be lower than it was prior to the pandemic \u2026 The unfilled demand for workers is much larger than it was then and layoffs appear to be noticeably lower.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Of course, it is speculation on the author\u2019s part that Reid and Cramer were possibly influenced by the White House memo asking to reshape coverage.
