Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Jon Tester (D-MT).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven with Senate approval, the GOP-backed resolution is unlikely to overturn the mandate,\u201d Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/senate-votes-repeal-biden-federal-vaccine-mandate-businesses\">reported<\/a>. \u201cThe Democrat-controlled House is not expected to take up the measure and President Biden would likely veto the bill if it cleared Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) led the fight in repealing the vaccine mandate using the \u201cCongressional Review Act,\u201d saying that the mandate was \u201cthe heavy hand of government\u201d hurting businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s got Main Street America scared,\u201d Braun said. \u201cThey\u2019re worried about, well, what does this mean on other issues? Anybody who thinks this is a good idea, imagine the next time it happens when you\u2019re on the wrong side on whatever the merits of the case would be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vaccine mandate is illegal, it\u2019s unconstitutional, and it\u2019s a grotesque abuse of power,\u201d Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said. \u201cAnd I think Biden knows that. I think the White House lawyers told Biden that this is illegal. This will get struck down in the courts. And cynically, I think they made the decision to ram it through anyway. Assuming that litigation will take time will take months or years, and in the meantime, a whole lot of people will obey. Last night\u2019s vote was a really important vote. We voted on rescinding Biden\u2019s vaccine mandate for private employers.
