He quickly went on to star in high-profile films including, <i>Sin City<\/i>, <i>Hollywood Homicide<\/i>, and <i>The Black Dahlia<\/i>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Hartnett <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-10285861\/Actor-Josh-Hartnett-reveals-turned-Hollywood.html\" target=\" _blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> UK Channel Seven\u2019s <i>Sunrise<\/i> program he soon realized \u201cthe best thing for my mental health\u201d was \u201cto keep Hollywood at bay.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19057914\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" readability=\"33\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Pearl_Harbor-639655779-large.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19057914\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Pearl_Harbor-639655779-large.jpg\" alt width=\"1200\" height=\"793\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Josh Hartnett is Danny Walker in Michael Bay\u2019s blockbuster Pearl Harbor. In Jan., for instance, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/culture\/film\/josh-hartnett-hollywood-porter-magazine-b900353.html\" target=\" _blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the <i>Evening Standard<\/i> that if he had given in to the \u201callure of Hollywood\u201d he \u201cwould not have a happy life.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cLuckily I think I hit onto it early on in my life: it\u2019s about creating a good home life and being able to do things that are wild and wonderful like making films, which is such a privilege,\u201d the 43-year-old Hartnett added.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Watch below:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Josh Hartnett On Walking Away From Big Movies\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yRE7zJZidzs?start=138&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>While Hartnett said he doesn\u2019t regret turning down many major roles \u2014 he says he turned down playing Batman in the Christopher Nolan-directed trilogy, and rebuffed a three-picture deal to play Superman \u2014 he did say he wishes he wasn\u2019t under contract for <i>The Black Dahlia<\/i> when he was offered the starring role in <i>Brokeback Mountain<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Hartnett added that regrets not being in the critically acclaimed LGBTQ movie because he \u201calways wanted to kiss Joaquin\u201d Phoenix.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The role Hartnett was offered in <i>Brokeback<\/i> eventually went to Jake Gyllenhaal, and the resulting film was showered with Oscar nominations and other awards.<\/p>\n<p>Hartnett has moved from big, tent pole films to small independent films and a number of TV series including <i>Paradise Lost<\/i>, <i>Die Hart<\/i>, and <i>Penny Dreadful<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>He will next be seen on the TV series, <i>The Fear Index<\/i>, about a man who gets mixed up in a terrorist plot to bring down the world\u2019s financial markets.<\/p>\n<p>While Hartnett may be a celebrated actor, he isn\u2019t so much for political predictions. In 2016, for instance, when Donald Trump was running for president, Hartnett told the British press that Hillary was a sure thing to win the White House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all up in the air and all very scary,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2016\/05\/27\/josh-harnett-america-will-look-back-laugh-trump-eventually-loses\/\" target=\" _blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the <i>Independent<\/i> in May of 2016. \u201cI\u2019m assuming that whoever takes on Trump \u2014 probably Hillary Clinton \u2014 will win the presidency. Then we can look back at this and laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he added, if Trump won, he would move to England. And unlike many other Hollywood celebs who made the claim, Hartnett did, indeed, move to the UK.
