The 15-year-old student was charged with counts of murder and terrorism following the incident after surrendering to law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the parents of the alleged shooter were arrested following an active search. The couple was arraigned on Saturday. All three family members were placed in the same correctional facility, but have been separated and have no contact with one another.<\/p>\n<p>The parents each face four criminal charges for involuntary manslaughter after reports that their son allegedly used a handgun purchased by the father as a gift for his son on Black Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Monday,&nbsp;Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald revealed new information during an interview on NBC\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d during which she was asked if it was possible that school officials could face charges related to the tragedy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s possible,\u201d McDonald responded, offering no further comment.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/michigan-school-shooting-suspect-likely-had-gun-in-backpack-during-parent-teacher-meeting-before-attack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously reported<\/a> that the alleged student also likely had the handgun in his backpack during a meeting with teachers and parents just hours before using it in the shooting spree:<\/p>\n<p><em>McDonald told&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AC360\/status\/1466587311622303746\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>&nbsp;on Thursday that there was a \u201cvery strong possibility\u201d the suspect was already carrying the weapon during a meeting with his parents and school officials earlier in the day before the shooting.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI think that it\u2019s already been public that he did have the weapon. During COVID, they don\u2019t use lockers, so they just have backpacks,\u201d McDonald said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cAnd unfortunately, he was allowed to get back to class. And we now know he had a weapon with him at that time. And that is simply tragic,\u201d she added.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Oxford Community Schools Superintendent Tim Throne also addressed the shooting during a video to the community on Thursday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI want you to know that there has been a lot of talk about the student who was apprehended,\u201d Throne&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2wHd8nN4tXw&amp;t=3s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThat he was called up to the office, and all that kind of stuff. No discipline was warranted. There are no discipline records at the high school,\u201d he added.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Throne did confirm that the student had \u201ccontact\u201d with the front office and that the student\u2019s parents were on campus on Tuesday morning before the shooting.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cYes, this student did have contact with our front office, and yes, his parents were on campus November 30th,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis is as much information as we can give you now,\u201d he added.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Three students were reported dead on Tuesday.
