During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on her nomination in September, Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) slammed the &#8220;radical prosecutor,&#8221; saying she is &#8220;vocal and aggressive against prosecuting crime.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;According to this individual who Democrats want to make the top prosecutor in the state of Massachusetts, trespassing is no longer against the law,&#8221; Cruz said. &#8220;We should unanimously reject this nominee\u2014that would be if we were in the land of reason, that&#8217;s what we would do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rollins, who serves as Suffolk County district attorney, faced intense opposition from Republicans, who argued she is soft on crime. As Boston&#8217;s chief prosecutor, <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/bidens-radical-prosecutor-nominee-faces-mounting-opposition\/\">she vowed<\/a> to forgo prosecution for a number of crimes, including theft and drug dealing.
