Jerry Nadler (D-NY) on Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ulHQiHHdUTs&amp;ab_channel=HouseJudiciaryGOP\">batted<\/a> down an attempt by ranking member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to subpoena officials involved in the FBI investigating concerned parents as \u201cdomestic terrorists\u201d at the behest of the National School Boards Association (NSBA).<\/p>\n<p>As Breitbart News previously reported, the NSBA sent a letter to the Biden administration asking it to investigate parents as \u201cdomestic terrorists.\u201d Shortly thereafter, Attorney General Merrick Garland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/21\/ag-merrick-garland-admits-he-took-word-of-national-school-boards-association-to-target-parents-as-domestic-terrorists\/\">directed<\/a> the FBI to look into parents \u2014 but maintained that parents would not be treated as \u201cdomestic terrorists.\u201d Despite that, a whistleblower revealed the FBI was, in fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/education\/2021\/11\/16\/house-republicans-reveal-whistleblower-documents-exposing-fbi-use-of-counterterrorism-tactics-against-parents\/\">using<\/a> \u201ccounterterrorism tools\u201d to look into parents concerned about their children\u2019s educations.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Jordan used his opening statement during a Judiciary Committee hearing to submit a resolution to the committee that would subpoena Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, and NSBA President Dr. Viola Garcia for questioning, as well as all relevant documents pertaining to the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Merrick Garland \u201ceither misled us, or he was clueless, and either one is bad,\u201d Jordan told Breitbart News. \u201cBecause he said on the 21st, \u2018I cannot imagine any circumstances where parents are treated as domestic terrorists.\u2019 Problem was, 24 hours before that, the head of counterterrorism at the FBI, Tim Langan, had sent out an email to FBI agents around the country saying \u2018use counterterrorism measures on parents, put this label, this designation, this, quote, threat tag on parents\u2019 who are simply moms or dads who are simply speaking up at school board meetings, saying, \u2018We don\u2019t want this crazy [critical race theory] stuff taught to our kids.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With a sign behind him that read \u201c48 Days Since Chairman Nadler Failed to Hold Garland Accountable for School Boards Memo,\u201d Jordan asked that his resolution to subpoena the officials \u201cbe brought up so that we could subpoena these individuals and more importantly the documents that we need to have so we can do our job and figure out just how much the Attorney General misled this committee and the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"6.9677419354839\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Just introduced this resolution to subpoena the National School Boards Association and Biden Administration. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZhVAtYbKCL\">pic.twitter.com\/ZhVAtYbKCL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jim_Jordan\/status\/1468602799428706307?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 8, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After Jordan\u2019s motion, a Democrat on the committee objected, which Nadler recognized.<\/p>\n<p>But the congressman explained to Breitbart News that the goal of the Democrats both in the House and in the Biden administration is to never be held accountable for their actions, as they have essentially been caught fabricating pretext to \u201cchill speech\u201d from parents advocating on behalf of their children\u2019s education. He also said that the NSBA letter did not initiate the forthcoming counterterrorism tactics, but rather the Biden administration initiated those talks.<\/p>\n<p>In five days, the Justice Department went from receiving the NSBA letter to Garland issuing a memo telling the FBI to look into parents, Jordan said, adding, \u201cI\u2019ve been in Congress for 15 years \u2026 I\u2019ve never seen government operate that fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree days after the letter, Tim Langan, the head of the counterterrorism division at the FBI, is already talking with the Justice Department on how to implement what\u2019s been asked for in the letter,\u201d he noted, explaining the timeline of events. \u201cSo, in other words, they were already talking about what to do before Garland sends the memo on the fourth of October.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The decision to go after parents, then, was not the design of the NSBA, Jordan explained, but rather the Biden administration used the NSBA as a means to achieve its own end of targeting parents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think the school board letter was the catalyst,\u201d he told Breitbart News. \u201cI think the Biden administration and the Garland Justice Department set out \u2014 their goal was to go after parents and chill any speech that was critical of what they wanted to do.&nbsp;And they were just looking for a pretext, a catalyst, an excuse to do what they wanted to do.&nbsp;And they go, \u2018Oh, let\u2019s work with the school board association to get them to send us the letter, then we\u2019ll go do what we want to do.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Continuing, Jordan explained that the NSBA letter was the only piece of evidence the Attorney General had before directing the FBI to look into parents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The] very first sentence says that there\u2019s been an uptick in violence,\u201d he said, questioning the premise of Garland\u2019s action. \u201cAnd remember, during the hearing, I asked him, \u2018What do you base that on? What evidence what, you know, what study? What information did you have to make you write that statement?\u2019 And he was basically, \u2018Oh, the school board letter.\u2019 So the only evidence he had was what the school board sent to him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the congressman explained, this sort of premise fabrication to initiate federal investigations is not an isolated incident.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cBut I think you got to view the letter from the School Board Association, in the same context as the dossier and the Trump-Russia investigation,\u201d Jordan told Breitbart News. \u201cJim Comey wanted, and the Obama FBI and Justice Department, wanted to go after President Trump, they wanted to spy on President Trump. But they needed an excuse, and the excuse became, \u2018Oh, there\u2019s a dossier.\u2019 Jim Comey sees this, knows it\u2019s garbage, but he goes and flies up to Trump Tower in January, early January of 2017, before President Trump\u2019s even been sworn in, and gives him a briefing on the dossier because they want to use that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo they needed a catalyst to do what they wanted to do,\u201d Jordan concluded. \u201cIt\u2019s a template that we see being used, and it\u2019s exactly the template that was used here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jordan also said that the Biden administration miscalculated and did not expect parents to be as strong-willed in the face of threats from the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey didn\u2019t count on it backfiring,\u201d he said. \u201cThey thought they were gonna chill speech, they thought they were gonna be able to slow down parents speaking out against all their left-wing ideas. \u2026&nbsp;And moms and dads were saying, \u2018Like, heck, you will. We\u2019re gonna do what\u2019s best for our kids.\u2019 And so much so that Glenn Youngkin is now the governor of Virginia, so they didn\u2019t count on that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the Ohio Republican said there is still a lot of information to uncover with regard to how far this counterterrorism effort went and is going.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the key questions is, what\u2019s the number?\u201d Jordan asked. \u201cHow many parents have this designation now associated with their names simply because they show up at school board meeting, or send an email to the school board, or whatever? How many parents have that tag on their name right now? What federal statutes are you planning on using when you decide to go after someone?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked if this issue will be a focus in a new Congress if Republicans take back the House in the 2022 midterms, Jordan replied \u201cYes, of course! I mean, there\u2019s a whole bunch of political activity that we\u2019re concerned about at the Justice Department, and this is front and center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Breccan F.
