Ron DeSantis (R) said on Tuesday, mentioning that people would \u201cbe getting&nbsp;pink slips\u201d if his&nbsp;administration had not taken action.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in Oldsmar, Florida, DeSantis <a href=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/vqdups-floridians-jobs-have-been-saved.html\">emphasized<\/a>&nbsp;the success the Sunshine State has had in saving people\u2019s jobs in the face of coercive vaccine mandates.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cPeople\u2019s jobs are being saved because of what we did to protect against mandates. And that has been the case with nurses, with police officers, with people who work for large companies,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAnd not only have we been able to save thousands of jobs. We actually now have some people who are being hired back due to what we did,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so, I said we needed to make sure that people were able to keep their jobs and earn a living and shouldn\u2019t be denied that right based on a COVID jab, and we\u2019ve done that,\u201d he added, noting that Florida is one of a few states that have \u201ctackled\u201d the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can say, had we not done what we\u2019ve done, there\u2019d be people right now who would be getting pink slips, and that\u2019s not happening in the state of Florida,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In November, DeSantis signed legislation in Brandon, Florida, designed to protect workers from losing their jobs due to coronavirus vaccine mandates. Under the rules,&nbsp;&nbsp;private sector employers cannot implement the mandate without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/PublishedContent\/Offices\/2020-2022\/President\/Documents\/11_17_21_Keep_Florida_Free_Final_Passage.pdf\">providing<\/a> these five exemptions, which establishment media outlets have criticized for providing too many loopholes:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"15\">\n<p>1. Medical reasons, as determined by a physician, advanced practice registered nurse, or physician assistant. Medical reasons include pregnancy or expectation of pregnancy.<br \/>2. Religious reasons, based on a sincerely held belief<br \/>3. Immunity based on prior COVID\u201319 infection, as documented by a lab test<br \/>4. Periodic testing, agreeing to comply with regular testing at no cost to the employee<br \/>5. Personal protective equipment (PPE), agreeing to comply with use of employer-provided PPE<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This week, DeSantis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/06\/ron-desantis-doctor-suspended-because-bidens-vaccine-mandate-reinstated\/\">highlighted<\/a> a Florida doctor who was recently reinstated \u201cdue to our efforts to stop this heavy-handed federal mandate\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"12.223564954683\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jeff, a Florida doctor I met in Brandon at the Special Session bill signing, was suspended from his job due to Biden&#8217;s mandate.
