At no point in the interview does he state he is concerned about the safety of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. He has since been vaccinated, according to a BioNTech spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Social media users have been sharing a video of Sahin, CEO of the <a href=\"https:\/\/scrip.pharmaintelligence.informa.com\/SC144598\/How-Pfizer-Crafted-Its-Own-Operation-Warp-Speed-For-The-COVID-19-Vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">company<\/a> that jointly developed the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, saying that he is \u201clegally not allowed to take the vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Ugur Sahin CEO of BioNTech and inventor of the BIO N TECH Pfizer jab refuses to take the jab for safety reasons,\u201d reads text included in the video.<\/p>\n<p>The claim made in the video\u2019s text, however, is inaccurate. While Sahin does say in the video that he cannot take the vaccine for legal reasons, at no point does he say he is concerned about the vaccine\u2019s safety. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/12\/10\/fact-check-photo-covid-19-vaccine-developer-ugur-sahin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Photo Show COVID-19 Vaccine Developer Ugur Sahin As A Child?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The video itself is pulled from an interview Sahin did with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/top-stories\/s-9097\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">DW News<\/a>, an English-language German news outlet, on Dec. 22, 2020.
