In his second round of questioning, Sec. Mayorkas refused to answer for the Biden administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruz.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/sens-cruz-kennedy-judiciary-committee-republicans-oppose-biden-plan-to-pay-illegal-immigrants-with-taxpayer-dollars\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed policy<\/a> of paying illegal immigrants,\u201d according to the senator\u2019s press <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruz.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/sen-cruz-grills-sec-mayorkas-the-immigration-system-is-broken-but-you-broke-it\">release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cruz.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/sen-cruz-joins-hannity-to-talk-biden-border-crisis-in-texas-were-paying-the-price\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">commented<\/a> on the discussion during an interview with Sean Hannity after the hearing:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSo I asked Secretary Mayorkas, \u2018How many kids have been put in the Biden cages?\u2019 He didn\u2019t know. I asked him, \u2018How many people coming here illegally have died, had been abandoned to die in the desert by the coyotes?\u2019 He said, \u2018I don\u2019t know.\u2019&nbsp;I asked him, \u2018How many women being trafficked in by human traffickers have been sexually assaulted?\u2019 He said, \u2018I didn\u2019t know.\u2019 I asked him, \u2018How many of the children, of the over 100,000 children that are brought in by human traffickers, how many of them have been sexually assaulted?\u2019 He said he didn\u2019t know.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cruz claimed the Biden administration is intentionally allowing human trafficking and other nefarious practices to continue:<\/p>\n<p><em>I\u2019ve got to tell you,&nbsp;in Texas, we\u2019re paying the price.&nbsp;When I\u2019m down on the border, when I\u2019m talking to farmers and ranchers and sheriffs and law enforcement, they are fed up. They are fed up with the crime, with the disease, with the poverty.&nbsp;It is overwhelming the State of Texas, and this administration is creating this lawlessness, and they\u2019re doing it deliberately.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/migrants-from-106-countries-crossed-southern-border-in-del-rio-sector-in-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously reported<\/a>, migrants from more than 100 countries illegally entered the country in the past Fiscal Year just in one sector of Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Del Rio Sector agents recently apprehended migrants that included two men from Syria, one man from Lebanon, and one man from Tajikistan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encounter individuals from all over the world attempting to illegally enter our country,\u201d Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D.
