(AP Photo\/Paul Sancya)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Speaking of what she deems as the parents\u2019 involvement, McDonald <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/03\/parents-of-oxford-school-shooting-suspect-ethan-crumbley-to-be-charged\/\">said<\/a>, \u201cAny individual who had the opportunity to stop this tragedy should have done so. The question is what did they know and when did they know it. The notion that a parent could read those words and also have access to a deadly weapon that they gave him \u2026 it is criminal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The words she is referring to came from violently graphic pictures Crumbley allegedly drew with inscriptions like, \u201cthe thoughts won\u2019t stop, help me,\u201d \u201cblood everywhere,\u201d \u201cmy life is useless,\u201d and \u201cthe world is dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>She indicated that similar levels of negligence for not noticing red flags from Crumbley may result in charges against administrators.<\/p>\n<p>Though McDonald did not elaborate on her comment, it is possible she will be looking for other warning signs missed or not reported by school officials. In this vein, Oxford Community Schools Superintendent Tim Throne <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/21137476-oxford-superintendent-throne-statement\">initiated<\/a> a \u201cthird party investigation\u201d into possible red flags from Crumbley leading up to the shooting, promising to \u201cleave no stone unturned.\u201d These and ostensibly other warning signs are the primary rationale for the rare move to bring charges against the parents of the alleged shooter.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel offered her office\u2019s resources to aid in an investigation in a tweet responding to news of Throne\u2019s investigation but did not specifically point to school administrators.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.8\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We have reached out to the attorney for the Oxford Community School District and have offered the services of the Michigan Departmemt of Attorney General to conduct a full and comprehensive review of the 11\/30\/21 shooting and the events leading up to it. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gLa4HLrbVa\">https:\/\/t.co\/gLa4HLrbVa<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dana Nessel (@dananessel) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dananessel\/status\/1467501786818830341?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 5, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The 15-year-old alleged shooter has been <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/06\/school-officials-could-be-charged-in-michigan-shooting\/\">charged<\/a> as an adult with murder and terrorism.
