Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) was on the defensive after being confronted about the nursing home death coverup. On Friday, the governor lashed out at reporters and blamed the Trump administration, calling it a political attack from former HHS officials.<\/p>\n<p>The governor then pivoted from the topic and began talking about the Capitol Hill violence to deflect from his own misdeeds. Cuomo went on to callously dismiss the claims that his state health department drastically undercounted COVID-19 nursing home deaths.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Cuomo on nursing home deaths: \u201cWho cares [where they died]? New York state, we&#8217;re only about 28 percent, only,&#8221; Cuomo stated. &#8220;We&#8217;re below the national average number of deaths in nursing homes, but who cares, 33, 28 died in a hospital, died in a nursing home.
