It remained in place for over a year until June 2021. However, the freedom was short-lived, as Oregon officials reimposed the requirement two months later in August. At the time, Gov. Kate Brown (D) also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/25\/oregon-gov-kate-brown-mandates-masks-outside-its-a-necessary-measure\/\">implemented<\/a>&nbsp;an outdoor mask mandate, requiring individuals to wear a mask in \u201call public outdoor settings where physical distancing is not possible, regardless of vaccination status.\u201d That took effect August 27, but officials lifted it right before Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Oregon still has an indoor mask requirement in place, but it is set to expire in February.&nbsp;According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kgw.com\/article\/news\/health\/coronavirus\/oha-drafting-new-indoor-mask-rules\/283-4092d773-8a1d-4800-96de-bc96b208701e\">KGW<\/a>, \u201cOregon health leaders wants to be able to switch to a permanent rule before then.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe permanent rule can still be ended once the COVID-19 pandemic recedes to a safe level, but it can remain in place indefinitely in the meantime and won\u2019t expire prematurely while case numbers are still dangerously high,\u201d the outlet reported:<\/p>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\" readability=\"32\">\n<blockquote readability=\"7\">\n<p>Oregon has not yet publicly released a copy of the draft permanent rule, so it\u2019s not clear whether it includes any major changes to the guidelines from the current temporary rule.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article__section article__section_type_text utility__text\" readability=\"60.28914785142\">\n<blockquote readability=\"9\">\n<p>The draft permanent rule will be released publicly by mid-December, according to OHA policy specialist Ilana Kurtzig, and there will be a public comment period starting in late December leading up to a public hearing in mid-January.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"attachment_17668626\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"38\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17668626\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/USATSI_15511733-e1629910833653.jpg\" alt=\"Gov.
