(AP Photo\/Charles Rex Arbogast)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>On Thursday, Smollett\u2019s attorney, Tamara Walker requested a mistrial over her claims Cook County Judge James Linn of \u201cphysically lunged\u201d at her, CBS News <a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.cbslocal.com\/2021\/12\/03\/jussie-smollett-trial-defense-suggests-abel-osundairo-who-said-he-was-paid-to-help-stage-attack-had-secret-romantic-relationship-with-smollett\/\">reports<\/a>. Reports say the encounter happened during a sidebar conversation with attorneys from both sides and Judge Linn.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The judge denied the accusations and also denied the motion for a mistrial.<\/p>\n<p>Walker reportedly appeared to be close to tears while debating with the judge and left the courtroom with her mother while the rest of Smollett\u2019s team continued to ask for a mistrial,&nbsp;<em>NY Post<\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/12\/02\/jussie-smolletts-lawyers-claim-judge-lunged-at-one-of-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The heated exchange came after cross-examination of&nbsp;Olabinjo Osundairo, who said Jussie Smollett paid him and his brother to stage the hate crime against the&nbsp;<em>Empire<\/em>&nbsp;star.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19019594\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" readability=\"32\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1130409207.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19019594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/GettyImages-1130409207.jpg\" alt width=\"1920\" height=\"1339\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>(E. JASON WAMBSGANS\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>During the questioning, the judge called the line of questioning \u201ccollateral\u201d in front of the jury, claiming it didn\u2019t have any relevance to the crime Smollett is on trial for. The judge\u2019s response prompted Walker to ask for a sidebar, but the alleged threat was made during the sidebar.<\/p>\n<p>The state has now rested its case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-288 Component-p-0-2-274\">After a three-day presentation of evidence, special prosecutor Dan Webb told the presiding judge Thursday evening the prosecution was done.
