The president was hoarse and coughing today. A lot of people in the workforce are encouraged not to go to work if they are exhibiting those symptoms, even if they are fully-vaccinated,\u201d Doocy stated. \u201cSo, are the rules different for the president?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psaki replied:<\/p>\n<p>The president, again, was tested, as we put out in some \u2014 in a transparent piece of information from his doctor, where he received a response quickly from that test, enable him \u2014 enabling him to proceed. People also had \u2014 he had a cold, which is what you know from the information put out by the doctor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut as you know from your own experience, it is possible to test negative several times before there\u2019s a positive test,\u201d Doocy pressed. \u201cSo is there any concern about having him at work while he\u2019s got these symptoms, even if he is showing negative tests?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can assure you that the president follows every protocol,\u201d Psaki responded. \u201cHe wants to keep everyone safe in the White House.
