Elmer Turner, says the home had been on the market for four years after former principal owner Marty Price became ill and decided to part with the town, according to NBC.<\/p>\n<p>Price, who passed away in August, was an avid Dallas Mavericks fan and had season tickets behind the away team\u2019s bench&nbsp;\u201cso he could provide proper heckling to the opposing team,\u201d Turner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/check-out-mavs-owner-mark-cuban-tiny-town-mustang-south-of-dallas\/287-4c8d06e8-1eb3-4a44-93d4-8d46fd480b41\">told<\/a> WFAA.<\/p>\n<p>In an email to NBC News Cuban stated, \u201cDid it to help out a friend. No plans yet!\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In 2017 the town was originally listed for four million dollars. Navarro County deed records reveal it finally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/report-dallas-mavs-owner-mark-cuban-latest-investment-entire-texas-town\/287-1c614488-491a-4007-8625-702fffcac6cc\">sold<\/a> last month to a Cuban-controlled company, WFAA reports.<\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cI had a fair amount of interest in it, but it was priced too high \u2014 even when we brought it down to $2 million,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/business\/real-estate\/2021\/12\/02\/mark-cuban-just-lassoed-the-entire-town-of-mustang-south-of-dallas\/\">said<\/a> Turner, per the <em>Dallas Morning News<\/em>. \u201cThe old strip club is not in good repair, but it could be redone for something.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The town <a href=\"https:\/\/data.census.gov\/cedsci\/profile?g=1600000US4850184\">boasts<\/a> a population of zero, though Turner told WFAA about one resident.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI know of only one potential resident, and that would be the resident alligator. We\u2019ve seen the tracks in the mud there,\u201d Turner said.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Turner spoke to the history of the town, which&nbsp;<\/span><span>was founded in the 1970s and served as the local watering hole when liquor sales were banned in much of Navarro County, according to the<em> Dallas Morning News.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMustang, Texas was referred to as an adult Texas town because of the past history,\u201d Turner told WFAA.<\/p>\n<p>The last two businesses that operated in the town were Lion\u2019s Den adult bookstore and Whispers Cabaret strip club, though neither has been open for multiple years, according to NBC News.<\/p>\n<p>Turner commends Cuban for helping out his deceased friend.<\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cIt says that Mark has a big heart. He\u2019s a great guy.
