We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately. While in the process of that review, additional information has come to light. Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"5.3333333333333\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Statement on Chris Cuomo\u2019s termination from CNN. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yKPwYtMznD\">pic.twitter.com\/yKPwYtMznD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CNN Communications (@CNNPR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CNNPR\/status\/1467254877340545028?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 4, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>CNN declined to share the details of the \u201cadditional information\u201d that has come to light.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, New York Attorney General Letitia James&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/29\/cnns-chris-cuomo-used-media-sources-to-dig-into-andrew-cuomos-accusers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released<\/a>&nbsp;text messages between Chris Cuomo and Melissa DeRosa, Andrew Cuomo\u2019s top aide. These texts showed Cuomo used his media sources to help with his brother\u2019s defense, essentially acting as an aide to Andrew Cuomo himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease let me help with the prep,\u201d Cuomo&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/29\/cnns-chris-cuomo-used-media-sources-to-dig-into-andrew-cuomos-accusers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">texted<\/a>&nbsp;DeRosa. CNN\u2019s review continued on Tuesday when Cuomo was suspended indefinitely by the network. \u201cThese documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother\u2019s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation,\u201d CNN&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/12\/04\/media\/cnn-fires-chris-cuomo\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo called his termination \u201cdisappointing\u201d in a statement posted to Twitter Saturday evening:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"9\">\n<p>This is not how I want my time at CNN to end but I have already told you why and how I helped my brother. So let me now say as disappointing as this is, I could not be more proud of the team at Cuomo Prime Time and the work we did as CNN\u2019s #1 show in the most competitive time slot.
