Should the federal government have the power to make vaccination mandatory?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Most, 57 percent, said \u201cno,\u201d the government does not have that power, while 35 percent said \u201cyes,\u201d and eight percent said \u201cnot sure.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The vast majority of Republicans, 81 percent, said the government does not have that power, and 63 percent of independents agree. However, most Democrats, 59 percent, believe the government does, in fact, have the power to make the coronavirus vaccination mandatory:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.6470588235294\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">57% of voters don\u2019t believe the federal government should have the power to make vaccination mandatory, <\/p>\n<p>Only 35% do.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@POTUS<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/breakingpoll?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#breakingpoll<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/VaccineMandates?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#VaccineMandates<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/sideeffects?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#sideeffects<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Syd818grUB\">https:\/\/t.co\/Syd818grUB<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YjnoiD2lOj\">pic.twitter.com\/YjnoiD2lOj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Rasmussen_Poll\/status\/1466822035850498054?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 3, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The survey, taken December&nbsp;1-2, 2021, among 1,000 U.S. likely voters, has a margin of error of +\/- 3 percent.<\/p>\n<p>In September, Biden announced his decision to direct the&nbsp;Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to develop a rule forcing employers with 100 or more employees to either mandate vaccines or implement rigorous testing requirements.<\/p>\n<p>OSHA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/17\/osha-vaccine-mandate-court-order\/\">released<\/a> the rule months later, which has since been suspended due to litigation. The&nbsp;U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit granted a motion to stay the requirement, prohibiting OSHA from implementing or enforcing the rule \u201cuntil further court order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OSHA\u2019s website currently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/coronavirus\/ets2\">states<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p>On November 12, 2021, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit granted a motion to stay OSHA\u2019s COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Emergency Temporary Standard, published on November 5, 2021 (86 Fed. Reg. 61402) (\u201cETS\u201d). The court ordered that OSHA \u201ctake no steps to implement or enforce\u201d the ETS \u201cuntil further court order.\u201d The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit now has jurisdiction over ETS challenges and DOL has filed a motion to lift the stay. While OSHA remains confident in its authority to protect workers in emergencies, OSHA has suspended activities related to the implementation and enforcement of the ETS pending future developments in the litigation. Note that the comment period is separate from the litigation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>More recently, this week, a federal judge&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktvh.com\/news\/knudsen-praises-federal-court-blocking-cms-vaccine-mandate\">granted<\/a> a preliminary injunction against President Biden\u2019s Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (CMS) vaccine mandate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most voters say the federal government does not have the authority to mandate coronavirus vaccines, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Friday found.
