Brooks Jr.\u2019s release on $1,000 bail in the days leading up to the Waukesha Christmas Parade massacre.<\/p>\n<p>In a Milwaukee County Board Meeting on Thursday, Chisholm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B1tRWU3MGVM\">stated<\/a>, \u201cy<span>ou had a young ADA trying to do the very best she could under really difficult circumstances, and she made a mistake.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>Chisholm did not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/local\/milwaukee\/2021\/12\/02\/john-chisholm-discuss-low-bail-given-man-charged-waukesha-christmas-parade-attack-darrell-brooks\/8814614002\/\">identify<\/a> the prosecutor by name, but court records indicate it is Michelle Grasso, according to the <em>Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Brooks was out on bail awaiting trial for \u201ca serious weapons-related offense\u201d after bail in the case was reduced, Chisholm said.<\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cA time later, Mr. Brooks is arrested again, and this time it\u2019s for a very serious domestic violence offense,\u201d he went on to say.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_18941842\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"37\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Darrell-Brooks-Waukesha-County-Court-Nov-23-21-getty.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18941842\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Darrell-Brooks-Waukesha-County-Court-Nov-23-21-getty.jpg\" alt=\"WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN - NOVEMBER 21: Darrell Brooks (C) appears at Waukesha County Court on November 23, 2021 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He added that she was in the middle of a two-and-a-half-day jury trial and had about two dozen felony cases to review.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Milwaukee DA later stated that \u201ct<span>here was a public safety assessment that was done that characterized this situation as a high-risk situation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Chisholm later said:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"16\">\n<p><span>In talking to the ADA, what she indicated is that she did not have access to that public safety assessment. It\u2019s not because it wasn\u2019t done, it just hadn\u2019t been uploaded into our case management system.&nbsp;<\/span><span>Given the volume of cases she was dealing with, given her jury trial she was working on, she simply charged the case, she looked at the previous bail, saw it that was $500 and she doubled it.&nbsp;<\/span><span>That\u2019s it. That\u2019s a mistake. That\u2019s human error. It set in motion a chain of events that resulted in a tragedy. And again, not trying to \u2013 not trying to lessen our responsibility for that, but that\u2019s it.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The DA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/milwaukee-county-da-speaks-after-darrell-brooks-fallout\">rebuffed<\/a> calls for his resignation, according to Fox 6:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"11\">\n<p><span>When things get tough, when tough things occur, the response shouldn\u2019t be to quit, to run away from the problem. This has to stop.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The outlet asked her, \u201c<\/span><span>Should Chisholm pay a price?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe\u2019re all human.
