On Friday, the Mesquite Police Department said while responding to a disturbance call, the officer was struck twice by a male suspect.<\/p>\n<p>The officer reportedly fired back at the suspect before striking him once. Please keep his family and our family in your prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, several officers coordinated a motorcade to transport the fallen officer\u2019s remains to the medical examiner\u2019s office.
