Devin Nunes (R-CA) noted on Friday\u2019s edition of the <em>Breitbart News Daily<\/em> podcast with host Alex Marlow.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cCalifornia is not out of water because of global warming,\u201d Nunes stated. \u201cThese fires aren\u2019t happening because of global warming, Your electricity price isn\u2019t going up because of global warming and not [having] enough solar panels. These are bad policies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Nunes highlighted California\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/10\/02\/why-is-california-closing-diablo-canyon-nuclear-plant.html\">planned<\/a> shutdown of its only nuclear power plant as an example of how Democrat policies \u2014 marketed as \u201cenvironmental\u201d \u2014 artificially increase energy costs.<\/p>\n<p><span>He said, \u201cI know they really want the nuclear power plant closed, but \u2026 they\u2019re worried [that if they]<\/span><span>&nbsp;close it, we\u2019re going to go from brownouts \u2013 or just rolling brownouts -\u2013 to blackouts,&nbsp;<\/span><span>and that\u2019s where this is going to head.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/environment\/2021\/10\/20\/gavin-newsom-extends-drought-emergency-to-entire-state-of-california\/\">Water<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/12\/02\/california-likely-to-impose-urban-water-restrictions-as-drought-worsens\/\">shortages<\/a> across California are also driven by leftist \u201cenvironmental\u201d politics, Nunes noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cFor going on 40 years now, there\u2019s been an attack by the radical left on every industry in California,\u201d he stated. \u201cIt started with agriculture [with] the radical left, the environmental greens going after our water supply, a<\/span><span>nd essentially what they\u2019ve done is they\u2019ve run us out of out of water.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nunes linked California\u2019s wildfires to the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/radio\/2020\/09\/17\/bjorn-lomborg-california-fires-mainly-caused-by-century-of-suppressing-controlled-burns\/\">poor forest management<\/a> policies grounded in ostensibly environmental concerns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy are the forests burning up?\u201d he asked. \u201cWell, you\u2019re told in school \u2014 and you\u2019re told by the mainstream media \u2014 you\u2019re told it\u2019s global warming.&nbsp;<span>The world is ending. [Media show] a<\/span><span>&nbsp;fire in the background and you think it must be global warming, la-dee-da, but it\u2019s not. The timber is burning up because they ended the timber industry 20 years ago. I<\/span>f you don\u2019t bring [fuelwood] out of the mountains, guess what? It burns, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nunes warned of worsening economic damage across California due to the state\u2019s increasingly onerous government.<\/p>\n<p><span>He concluded, \u201cFor the last few years, it\u2019s been the golden goose, which is Silicon Valley and venture capital. Now I believe that the golden goose\u2019s head\u2019s been cut off.
