While nearly 3-in-4 corporate executives (74%) think that communication on this topic has been effective, only 39% of voters can say the same. This shows how corporate executives vastly overestimate the effectiveness of companies that choose to communicate on these issues. In short, the gap arises when what you say and what you do don\u2019t align.<\/p>\n<p>Although The Brunswick Group was not surprised that \u201cTrump voters are less open to companies speaking out on social issues than Biden voters,\u201d they observed that \u201ceven Biden voters think corporate executives need to weigh in less.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among other elected officials, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ron-desantis-rips-rise-of-corporate-wokeness-threatens-backlash-against-companies-pushing-ideology\">noted<\/a> the rise in corporate wokeness. During an annual meeting for the Florida Chamber of Commerce, he told executives that he would take action against employers using corporate \u201cpower\u201d to forward ideologies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re using your power as a corporation, and you\u2019re leveraging that to try to advance any ideology, I think it\u2019s very dangerous for this country and I\u2019m not just gonna sit idly by,\u201d DeSantis said. \u201cDo you want to be more of a political actor or more of a business actor?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t ever think that caving to the mob is going to save your bacon,\u201d DeSantis warned. \u201cThat\u2019s just going to cause them to come back more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, if you do it, you are also going to come by some people on the other side, like me, who are going to say well, wait a minute, if you\u2019re going to criticize what we\u2019re doing I may criticize some of the things you are doing,\u201d he continued. \u201cI may look under the hood and not like some things \u2026 I got a podium. I got cameras that will follow me around. Maybe I\u2019ll go talk about that a little bit. And so, I think it\u2019s something that\u2019s very damaging.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A previous analysis from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/one-year-after-george-floyd-americas-biggest-corporations-earmark-37-billion-for-racial-equity\">The Daily Wire<\/a> found that Fortune 100 companies earmarked over $37 billion for \u201cracial equity\u201d initiatives following the death of George Floyd.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Alphabet \u2014 the parent company of Google \u2014 added to subsidiary YouTube\u2019s $100 million equity fund with $175 million in new grants.
