If you go to our Fremont factory it\u2019s jammed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s tough for people to afford houses, and people have to come in from far away,\u201d Musk said. \u201cThere\u2019s a limit to how big you can scale in the Bay Area. In Austin our factory is like five minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from Downtown.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk had previously threatened to move Tesla\u2019s headquarters last year when COVID lockdowns shuttered the company\u2019s manufacturing facility in Fremont, California.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas\/Nevada immediately.
