I am immensely grateful and will miss working for her and with all of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Sanders joined the vice president\u2019s team after serving as Joe Biden\u2019s senior campaign adviser in the 2020 election. Before working for the Biden campaign, Sanders served as Sen. Bernie Sanders\u2019 (D-VT) national press secretary during his 2016 run for president.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders guided Harris through a tumultuous first year in office that saw harsh criticism for its messaging tactics.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) was&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/02\/01\/politics\/joe-manchin-white-house-call\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">frustrated<\/a>&nbsp;with Harris\u2019 decision to promote the Biden administration\u2019s agenda in West Virginia without calling him first. Additionally, Harris\u2019s team suffered backlash for not visiting the U.S.-Mexico border while on her first trip abroad.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Further, Sanders spread&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/19\/vice-presidents-team-caught-spreading-misinformation-surrounding-kamala-harris-coronavirus-test\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">misinformation<\/a>&nbsp;to the press surrounding Harris\u2019s coronavirus testing in July.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Sanders, Harris\u2019s Director of Press Operations Peter Velz will also&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/mobile.twitter.com\/tperry518\/status\/1466252385219760128\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exit<\/a>&nbsp;the White House \u201cin the coming weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"9.9170984455959\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A source familiar confirms Peter Velz, Director of Press Operations for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VP?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@VP<\/a> Kamala Harris, also plans to leave the VP&#8217;s office &#8220;in the coming weeks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tim Perry (@tperry518) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tperry518\/status\/1466252385219760128?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 2, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The news of Sanders\u2019 and Velz\u2019s exits comes just two weeks after Harris\u2019s communications director Ashley Etienne&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/18\/top-kamala-harris-aide-announces-resignation-as-vp-publicly-walks-back-reports-of-infighting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;her resignation.<\/p>\n<p>These high-profile departures from Harris\u2019 team bolster recent&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/14\/trouble-paradise-joe-biden-kamala-harris-sour-each-other\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a>&nbsp;of infighting between team Harris and team Biden, as well as&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/11\/14\/biden-successor-2024-kamala-harris-522160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a>&nbsp;that Harris is not a viable successor to Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany in the vice president\u2019s circle fume that she\u2019s not being adequately prepared or positioned, and instead is being sidelined,\u201d&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/11\/14\/politics\/kamala-harris-frustrating-start-vice-president\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>&nbsp;reported. \u201cThe vice president herself has told several confidants she feels constrained in what she\u2019s able to do politically.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sanders may have hard feelings towards Biden too.
