He said he acted in ordnance with his \u201coath to the Constitution,\u201d adding that Congress\u2019 only job is to count the votes that have been submitted by each state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know in my heart of hearts that on that day, we did our duty under the Constitution. I don\u2019t know if President Trump and I will ever see eye to eye on that day or that many of our most ardent supporters will agree with my decision that day, but I know I did the right thing,\u201d said Pence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEW: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mike_Pence?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Mike_Pence<\/a> won&#8217;t use the words &#8220;rigged&#8221; or &#8220;stolen&#8221; regarding the 2020 Election.
