That\u2019s when I knew that they didn\u2019t have a case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the opening statements, you already knew?\u201d Kirk said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah,\u201d Rittenhouse said, explaining the prosecution claiming that the teenager \u201cchased down\u201d Joseph Rosenbaum, \u201cwhich is not true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notably, prosecution reframed their arguments after their opening claim that Rittenhouse chased Rosenbaum fell apart. Instead, the team shifted to accusing Rittenhouse of \u201cprovocation,\u201d seemingly for merely being present and having a rifle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat exactly was [prosecution\u2019s] strategy for putting Black on the stand, because his story completely lined up with your story,\u201d journalist Jack Posobiec interjected, posing the question to Rittenhouse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they called Dominick to the stand hoping that he would lie,\u201d Rittenhouse stated bluntly. \u201cBut Dominick was under oath and he told the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the same podcast, the teen revealed what was on his mind during the trial as he sat expressionless like a \u201cpotted plant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBelieve it or not, I\u2019m freaking out behind the scenes, because you don\u2019t know what\u2019s gonna happen,\u201d Rittenhouse told&nbsp;Kirk, describing how he dealt with the trial and public spectacle.<\/p>\n<p>The teen credited his support group, including his three attorneys, for helping him \u201cstay calm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I\u2019m thinking when I\u2019m just the blank-faced, potted plant in court, I\u2019m just saying in my head, \u2018Is this guy serious?\u2019 referring to \u2018Lunchbox\u2019 and Binger, also known as \u2018Little Finger,\u2019\u201d said Rittenhouse.<\/p>\n<p>The name \u201cLunchbox\u201d is a reference to Assistant District Attorney James Kraus, who was given the nickname by some online commentators, perhaps due to his weight. \u201cLittle Finger\u201d and \u201cLittle Binger\u201d were common nicknames for Assistant District Attorney&nbsp;Thomas Binger.<\/p>\n<p>Kraus and Binger led the prosecution against Rittenhouse, who was facing life in prison without the chance of parole.<\/p>\n<p>The teen was eventually found not guilty by a jury on all counts.
