During a recent interview with the BBC, company CEO Albert Bourla said individuals might need a booster shot every year moving forward.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today, we submitted a request to the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/US_FDA?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@US_FDA<\/a> to expand the emergency use authorization of a booster dose of our COVID-19 vaccine to include 16- and 17-year-olds. It is our hope to provide strong protection for as many people as possible, particularly in light of the new variant.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Albert Bourla (@AlbertBourla) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlbertBourla\/status\/1465804576372703241?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 30, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Tuesday, Pfizer submitted a request to the FDA to approve booster shots for 16 and 17-year-olds.
