Or a white woman with white babies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"subbuzz__title xs-mb1 bold\">Pinkett Smith\u2019s&nbsp;daughter Willow interjected,&nbsp;\u201cIt\u2019s the mother\u2013child dynamic. There is no color.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"subbuzz__title xs-mb1 bold\">\u201cMaybe one day that will go away,\u201d Bullock responded. \u201cMaybe one day we will be able to see with different eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pinkett Smith then asked Bullock about apparent criticism concerning her decision to adopt black kids, as opposed to white children.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one would say that to my face,\u201d Bullock answered.&nbsp;\u201cBut guess what? You get the racism. There\u2019s been \u2026 sure, a lot of it. Guess what? Not my problem. Your sickness is not my problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During a recent interview with the Grio, Bullock recalled telling her six-year-old son not to look suspicious by wearing a hoodie outside the home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the age of six, he popped on a hoodie and I was like, \u2018We\u2019re going to have a conversation,\u2019\u201d she said, <a href=\"https:\/\/thegrio.com\/2021\/12\/01\/sandra-bullock-black-children\/\">according<\/a> to the Grio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said, \u2018What does it look like you\u2019re doing with the hoodie?\u2019\u201d Bullock continued. \u201cAnd he says, \u2018Well, I look like I\u2019m hiding.\u2019 \u2018Do you have anything to hide?\u2019 He said, \u2018No.\u2019 I said, \u2018Then you don\u2019t need to wear it like that outside.\u2019 I said, \u2018People are scared and will react to you differently than if you were a white boy.\u2019 And he knows it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI let them see everything,\u201d the actress told the outlet. \u201cI let them hear and know everything, see it all. I don\u2019t care if it scares them because it\u2019s my job to let them know that outside of these safe walls, that things are different.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about her new film, \u201cThe Unforgivable,\u201d Bullock said it focuses on&nbsp;\u201ca system of unfairness,\u201d and related back to her sons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a scary thing to think that when your beautiful son grows up and becomes a man, someone\u2019s not going to treat him the way that you treat him simply because of the color of his skin,\u201d she said. \u201cIt breaks my heart. It makes me full of rage. It makes me afraid. But all I can do is my job. Protect them. Enlighten them. Show them their power.
