Notably, the individual who contracted the virus is in California and is, under the current definition, \u201cfully vaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>During the press conference, a reporter asked Fauci if the booster shots will eventually become part of the vaccine mandate, which President Biden and his administration are attempting to force on American workers via the&nbsp;Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt what point does the booster become part of the mandate?\u201d the reporter asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t answer that right now. Ron DeSantis (R), who warned that vaccine mandates could become \u201crolling\u201d mandates due to the chatter of booster shots.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Zients, the&nbsp;White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator, also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/12\/01\/statement-from-white-house-covid-19-response-coordinator-jeff-zients-on-first-case-of-the-omicron-covid-19-variant-in-the-united-states\/\">released<\/a> a statement on the first case of the Omicron variant in the U.S., yet he failed to mention that the infection occurred in a fully vaccinated individual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President\u2019s medical team continues to believe that existing vaccines will provide some level of protection against severe illness from Omicron, and individuals who have gotten boosters have even stronger protection,\u201d he said in a statement, urging adults to get vaccinated and boosted, while also pushing them to vaccinate their children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Anthony Fauci on Wednesday suggested that the definition of \u201cfully vaccinated\u201d could change, only applying to individuals who received a coronavirus booster shot as well.
