Ted Cruz challenged President Joe Biden\u2019s U.S. district court nominee Dale Ho on Tuesday over his past statements.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/29\/ted-cruz-rand-paul-anthony-fauci-represent-science-claim\/\">Cruz<\/a> asked Ho to explain why he described himself in the past as \u201ca wild-eyed Leftist\u201d and someone \u201caccused sometimes of seeing discrimination everywhere\u201d he looked during the Tuesday <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/03\/biden-epa-nominee-michael-regan-gina-mccarthy-john-kerry-senate-hearing\/\">confirmation hearing<\/a> of the Senate Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator Cruz, I think the key word in that quote is \u2018accused\u2019,\u201d Ho responded. \u201cI think I was characterizing how others have caricatured myself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&#039;Wild-Eyed Leftist&#039;: Ted Cruz Grills District Judge Nominee Over His Past Statements\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GCF1d6RrriM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Texas senator then went on to say that Ho had launched partisan attacks on the Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz also quoted Ho\u2019s 2017 statement, in which the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/07\/02\/citizenship-question-census-form\/\">American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) lawyer<\/a> called his hatred towards conservatives a source of \u201cmoral clarity\u201d capable to \u201cmotivate the long hours needed to get the work done.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/12\/01\/gigi-sohn-federal-communications-commission-joe-biden-fcc-nominee\/\">(RELATED: Biden\u2019s FCC Nominee With History Of Net Neutrality Activism Set For Tough Hearing)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI recognize that New York is a blue state, but imagine there is someone who considers himself or herself a conservative in the state of New York, who, God forbid, finds themselves in a courtroom where you\u2019re wearing a robe,\u201d Cruz said to the judicial nominee for the Southern District of New York.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat comfort do you think that litigant would have that you described the hatred of conservatives, the righteous indignation, the anger at conservatives, as a tremendous source of power for you personally?\u201d Cruz asked.<\/p>\n<p>Ho claimed that the quoted part of his statement was a joke that he relayed during his speech at a church.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s nominee said that he did not know of any <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/08\/justice-department-sues-yale-racial-discrimination-asian-american-white-applicants\/\">discriminatory admission practices<\/a> Yale Law School, his alma mater, applied to his fellow Asian-Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Ho then asserted that he would like to follow the examples of judges who hold political views as having no role \u201con the bench.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, your record suggests precisely the contrary,\u201d Cruz said in response.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican Texas Sen.
