The president will talk more about what we\u2019re going to do tomorrow,\u201d Psaki said. \u201cBut we need the American people to do more, who are not vaccinated to help us continue to fight the virus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/covid.cdc.gov\/covid-data-tracker\/#vaccinations_vacc-total-admin-rate-total\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CDC report,<\/a>&nbsp;59% of the U.S. population is fully vaccinated, while 21% have received a booster shot.<\/p>\n<p>The Omicron variant was recently discovered in South Africa, prompting the Biden administration to implement <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/26\/countries-travel-restrictions-new-coronavirus-variant-south-africa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">travel restrictions<\/a> on South Africa and Botswana. The first known case of the variant was identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday, just days after Dr. Angelique Coetzee, chair of the South African Medical Association, warned that the variant has already reached the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>In a Monday address, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/29\/joe-biden-omicron-not-cause-for-panic-defends-travel-restrictions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden<\/a> urged the public to receive the vaccine and booster shots, arguing that it is the most effective way for people to be protected against the virus.
