Chip Roy (R) claims that President Joe Biden has committed an \u201cimpeachable offense\u201d in his handling of the illegal immigration crisis on the U.S. southern border.<\/p>\n<p>Roy appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/chip-roy-biden-endangering-texans-lives-not-securing-border\">Fox News<\/a> on Wednesday and slammed the president, accusing him of knowingly putting Texans at risk by refusing \u201cto actually secure the border.\u201d The Texas lawmaker also argued that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas should be impeached as well. Roy said:<\/p>\n<p><em>We should be supporting all of Texas. We\u2019re getting the shaft. While this president refuses to do his job, unconstitutionally by the way, an impeachable offense to not faithfully execute the laws of the United States. We should be helping the ranchers, helping the counties that are burying dead migrants to the tune of ten thousand dollars a body, helping the schools, helping the hospitals. Why? Because we\u2019re not doing our job to secure the border, Texas is getting stuck because this president refuses to actually secure the border, endangering Texans\u2019 lives and endangering migrants in the process. They know what they\u2019re doing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And for this reason, Mayorkas should be impeached. He came before the United States Senate, and he said he didn\u2019t even know how many got-aways there were. He basically lied to the American people. Of course, he knows how many got-aways there are. They don\u2019t care. And because they don\u2019t care, they should be impeached for it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In November, Biden moved to reinstate a policy he previously scrapped called Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP). MPP, better known as \u201cRemain in Mexico,\u201d is a policy first implemented under former President Donald Trump that Biden stopped enforcing until being ordered to start again by the U.S. Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn compliance with the court order, we are working to reimplement MPP as promptly as possible,\u201d DHS spokesperson Marsha Espinosa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-reinstating-trump-era-remain-in-mexico-immigration-policy-after-court-forces-admin-to-do-so\">said<\/a> at the time. \u201cWe cannot do so until we have the independent agreement from the Government of Mexico to accept those we seek to enroll in MPP. We will communicate to the court, and to the public, the timing of reimplementation when we are prepared to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/texas-defeats-biden-scotus-rules-biden-must-restart-remain-in-mexico-policy\">ruled<\/a> in August, upholding a lower court\u2019s ruling, that the Biden administration had improperly terminated \u201cRemain in Mexico\u201d and must reimplement the Trump-era policy. \u201cRemain in Mexico\u201d forces immigrants claiming asylum in the United States to wait in Mexico, rather than be released into the U.S. interior, while their asylum claims are processed by a U.S. immigration court.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court wrote, denying the administration\u2019s petition for a stay on the lower court\u2019s decision:<\/p>\n<p><em>The application for a stay presented to Justice Alito and by him referred to the Court is denied.
