Now Powell says that the outlook on all those fronts is much murkier, although he still thinks that an easing of inflation is \u201clikely.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe point is, we can\u2019t act as if we\u2019re sure of that,\u201d Powell told the House Financial Service Committee on Wednesday. \u201cWe\u2019re not at all sure of that. Inflation has been more persistent and higher than we\u2019ve expected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Inflation has been running at the fastest rate of price increases in three decades and recent indicators suggest that it is still accelerating.
