Wade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWould you specifically tell me, specifically state what the right is, is it specifically abortion? Is it a liberty? Is it liberty? Is it autonomy? Is it privacy?\u201d Thomas asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe right is grounded in the liberty component of the 14th Amendment, Justice Thomas. But I think that it promotes interest in autonomy, bodily integrity, liberty and equality. And I do think it is specifically the right to abortion here, the right of a woman to be able to control, without the state forcing her to continue a pregnancy, whether to carry that baby to term,\u201d one of the lawyers challenging the Mississippi law said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.285714285714\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Justice Thomas: \u201cIf we were talking about the second amendment, I know what we\u2019re talking about. Because it\u2019s written, it\u2019s there. What specifically is the right here [to abortion] that we\u2019re talking about?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0JEPecy40z\">pic.twitter.com\/0JEPecy40z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Greg Price (@greg_price11) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1466083253467729920?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 1, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI understand we\u2019re talking about abortion here,\u201d Thomas said. \u201cBut what is confusing is that we, if we were talking about the Second Amendment, I know exactly what we\u2019re talking about. If we\u2019re talking about the Fourth Amendment I know what we\u2019re talking about because it\u2019s written there. What specifically is the right here that we\u2019re talking about?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer said that both the Second Amendment and other amendments have needed further explanation from the court to determine their bounds, arguing the case with abortion is no different. The lawyer argued the question about abortion only tips toward allowing the state to intervene when the question of viability arises.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the right of a woman prior to viability to control whether to continue with a pregnancy.\u201d &nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/29\/actually-happen-roe-overturned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Here\u2019s What Would Actually Happen If Roe Is Overturned)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The court is <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/30\/what-media-ignores-about-abortion-law-center-major-supreme-court-case-according-mississippi-governor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hearing<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/30\/john-kennedy-roe-v-wade-poorly-reasoned-decisions-mississippi-abortion-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dobbs v. Jackson\u2019s Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/a>, which involves Mississippi\u2019s ban on abortions after 15 weeks. The case challenges the precedent that the right to an abortion is protected before fetal viability. The state is asking the court to overturn Roe v. Wade.<\/p>\n<p>The law was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/05\/24\/us\/mississippi-abortion-law.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blocked<\/a> by a federal court in May.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court ruled in 1973 in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/26\/hawley-cruz-lee-supreme-court-overturn-roe-v-wade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Roe v.
