He recalled the White House physician breaking the news following \u201ca brief but tense wait\u201d as Trump was about to depart on Air Force One.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStop the president from leaving,\u201d Meadows said White House physician Sean Conley told him, according to the Guardian.<\/p>\n<p>When Trump found out, Meadows reportedly wrote, his response \u201crhyme[d] with \u2018Oh spit, you\u2019ve gotta be trucking lidding me.\u2019\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/02\/trump-covid-19-walter-reed-cleveland-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Cleveland Officials Link 11 Positive COVID-19 Tests To Debate)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7020273\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"36\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7020273\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Then-President Donald Trump exits Marine One at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on October 2, 2020, shortly after he announced that he and former First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19. (Alex Edelman\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Guardian reported that Meadows said the positive test was from an older kit and that Trump would be tested again with \u201cthe Binax system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[W]e were hoping the first test was a false positive,\u201d he reportedly wrote.<\/p>\n<p>When Meadows called Trump to inform him that his next test was negative, Trump took that as \u201cfull permission to press on as if nothing had happened,\u201d the Guardian added.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/29\/chris-wallace-forced-yell-stop-joe-biden-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first debate<\/a> between Trump and Biden went on as scheduled on Sept. 29.
