Byron Donalds (R-FL) riled up Small Business Committee Chair Rep. Nydia Vel\u00e1zquez, a Democrat, when he criticized President Joe Biden\u2019s knowledge of the private sector, emphasizing Biden\u2019s lack of experience with small businesses and the private sector more largely.<\/p>\n<p>After&nbsp;Vel\u00e1zquez warned Donalds he was allegedly violating the quorum, the GOP representative insisted he did not \u201ctrash\u201d the president, but was merely \u201cspeaking facts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Donalds told Isabella Casillas Guzman, who serves as the administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), that she has far more experience in the private sector than Biden, illustrating why he believes child tax credits and government handouts will not help small business owners staff their establishments, particularly at a time when help is hard to come by.<\/p>\n<p>After Donalds told Guzman that Biden has never \u201cworked a day in his life\u201d outside Washington, Vel\u00e1zquez scolded the Republican.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMadam chair, the president has never worked in our economy,\u201d Donalds told Vel\u00e1zquez in response. \u201cThose are facts. \u2026 That\u2019s the truth of the matter. He has never worked a day in the economy; he\u2019s always worked in Washington, D.C. To point out that fact, to illustrate the fact that we\u2019re talking about major economic policy that impacts the 31 million small business owners in our country is not [violating] the quorum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t trash the man, I\u2019m speaking facts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/millercenter.org\/joe-biden-life-presidency\">According<\/a> to the Miller Center, Biden only possibly worked one private-sector job before he hit the age of 30, and then it was government positions from then on. Biden took a position at a corporate law firm \u201cdefending big businesses\u201d after college. He also took a summer job as a lifeguard at a public pool during college and briefly became a public defender:<\/p>\n<p><em>After graduating from Syracuse University Law School in 1968, Joe first took a job with a corporate law firm defending big businesses but soon realized the work was not right for him, and he became a public defender whose clients were nearly all African Americans from Wilmington\u2019s East Side. By 1970, he had his first taste of politics, winning election to the New Castle County Council, where he served until 1972, when he challenged the likeable, 63-year-old, two-term Senator J. Caleb Boggs, a Republican.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearmarkets.com\/articles\/2020\/10\/29\/more_evidence_joe_biden_has_spent_his_entire_working_career_in_government_582329.html\">published<\/a> on RealClearMarkets last year hit Biden as a career politician after he made troubling comments about the private sector and small businesses:<\/p>\n<p><em>Biden has spent his entire working life in government which, unlike private sector businesses, does not have make a profit to survive. It can simply use taxpayer dollars to cover overspending and errors in judgment. Perhaps this is why Biden seems oblivious to the fact that increasing &nbsp;labor costs would result in fewer businesses being able to keep their doors open. You don\u2019t need a study to prove it.
