The Vienna negotiations will be the seventh round of meetings between the countries.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to Axios:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p>Top Biden officials are deeply worried Iran will go too far in its current nuclear development, making it too late to return to the 2015 agreement, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), according to sources familiar with internal administration discussions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Officials are reportedly concerned because Iranian scientists cannot unlearn any knowledge they gain after developing advanced nuclear technology.<\/p>\n<p>The 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, commonly known as the Iran Deal, was negotiated by the Obama administration, members of the U.N Security Council, and former Iranian leader Hassan Rouhani. However, according to Axios, the new Iranian leader, Ebrahim Raisi,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/us-fears-iran-wont-scale-back-to-2015-nuclear-deal-12702cbd-a700-4677-a2d5-ac062c089bc6.html?utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=newsletter_axiossneakpeek&amp;stream=top\">thinks<\/a> of Rouhanui as \u201ca weak accommodationist who negotiated a bad deal with the U.S. and other world powers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, former President Donald Trump&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2018\/05\/08\/promise-kept-donald-trump-announces-decision-withdraw-iran-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">withdrew<\/a>&nbsp;the United States from the Iran Deal after promising to do so on the campaign trail. Trump was highly critical of former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, and former Secretary of State John Kerry for negotiating the deal.<\/p>\n<p>After the United States\u2019 withdrawal, Iran <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-middle-east-59386825\">continued<\/a> to develop their nuclear program. Iran has consistently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defensenews.com\/global\/mideast-africa\/2020\/06\/05\/un-agency-says-iran-is-violating-all-restrictions-of-nuclear-deal\/\">violated<\/a> the terms of the Iran Deal, which prohibited Iran from exceeding 300 kilograms of low-enriched uranium. At one point, Iran <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2019\/07\/02\/iran-claims-violating-the-nuclear-deal-conforms-to-the-nuclear-deal\/\">claimed<\/a> they had a \u201cright\u201d to violate the deal at their whim.<\/p>\n<p>A U.S. State Department spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/us-fears-iran-wont-scale-back-to-2015-nuclear-deal-12702cbd-a700-4677-a2d5-ac062c089bc6.html?utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=newsletter_axiossneakpeek&amp;stream=top\">said<\/a>, \u201cWe have made clear that Iran\u2019s continued nuclear escalations are unconstructive and inconsistent with its stated goal of returning to mutual compliance with the JCPOA.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senior U.S. intelligence officials worry Iran will not scale back their nuclear program to 2015 Iran Deal levels ahead of another round of negotiations, according to an Axios\u00a0report.
