The Navy secretary has said they will not all be kicked out the day after the deadline, but it is unclear what happens next.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will be addressing each case on a case-by-case basis,\u201d Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro told reporters last week, according to Task &amp; Purpose. \u201cWe\u2019re just not going to all kick them out on the day of the deadline itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>He indicated the Navy, of which the Marine Corps is a component, would give Marines an opportunity to change their minds. He reportedly said:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p>We\u2019re going to try find out what\u2019s their problem and holdup in getting the vaccine, try to counsel them the best we can, offer them an opportunity to change their mind with regards to the vaccinations. Hopefully, they\u2019ll get the vaccination at that point in time. And if they don\u2019t, obviously, then they\u2019re not going to be able to continue serving in the Marine Corps.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Those who have exemption requests pending will not face consequences until their request have been adjudicated, and there are still hundreds in the works.<\/p>\n<p>However, the number of those not complying with the Biden administration\u2019s vaccine mandate exceeds the known number of those who requested or were granted an exemption from the vaccine mandate.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Marine Corps, 316 members are under a temporary medical exemption, 452 members have been granted a temporary administrative exemption, and&nbsp;14 service members have been granted a permanent medical exemption.&nbsp;It is not clear how many more have medical exemption requests that are still pending.<\/p>\n<p>The service finally revealed the number of those who applied for religious accommodation from the vaccine mandate \u2014 2,441.<\/p>\n<p>The Marine Corps said that 1,902 have been processed and \u201czero requests have been approved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A religious accommodation request submitted by a Marine viewed by Breitbart News included a personal statement from the Marine, a personal statement from a retired Marine attesting to his faith, and a statement from the Marine\u2019s senior pastor.<\/p>\n<p>The across-the-board denials come despite the military archbishop,&nbsp;Reverend Timothy P. Broglio,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/13\/military-archbishop-says-vaccine-mandate-could-violate-conscience\/\">issuing a statement<\/a>&nbsp;last month that although the Catholic Church has deemed the vaccines to be morally permissible, it does not preclude a service member from believing that the vaccine would violate their conscience.<\/p>\n<p>The Marine Corps said regarding its denial of religious accommodation requests:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p>The Marine Corps\u2019 process for evaluating requests for religious accommodation that require an exception to policy follows a rigorous approach to ensure Marines receive due consideration. The process begins with an interview at the Marine\u2019s unit with the chaplain and an endorsement by the first general officer in the chain of command. The request is forwarded to Manpower and Reserve Affairs where it is evaluated by a 3-member Religious Accommodation Review Board as well as by health services and legal. The recommendations from these representatives are forwarded to the deputy commandant for M&amp;RA for final determination. The Marine Corps uses a centralized approval authority for these requests to ensure consistent adjudication of the requests.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of the Navy does not normally grant religious accommodations for vaccinations.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" readability=\"13.709543568465\">\n<div class=\"WordSection1\" readability=\"22.522821576763\">\n<p class=\"paragraph\">Marine Corps reservists have until December 28 to get fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">By November 18, only 66 percent of Marine reservists were fully vaccinated and 75 percent had at least one dose of a vaccine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">The Marine Corps announced Monday that by November 24, 79 percent had at least one dose. It is not clear how many more became fully vaccinated or got at least one dose.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\">Marine Corps Commandant Gen.
