Dahm noted if SB1120 becomes law it would also guarantee that \u201cvictims of malicious prosecution would be able to receive compensation for expenses and damages.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Dahm\u2019s legislation is in response to the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, the individual who two and killed two people\u2013Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum\u2013and wounded a third, Gaige Grosskreutz, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on August 25, 2020. Rittenhouse claimed self-defense and the jury agree with him, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/law-and-order\/2021\/11\/19\/verdict-kyle-rittenhouse-found-not-guilty-on-all-charges\/\">acquitting him of all charges<\/a> on November 19, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The trial was arduous on Rittenhouse, to say the least, and Sen. Dahm responded in a press release, <a href=\"https:\/\/oksenate.gov\/press-releases\/sen-dahm-files-kyles-law?back=\/senator-press-releases\/nathan-dahm\">saying<\/a>, \u201cKyle Rittenhouse should never have been charged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He then transitioned to SB1120, adding, \u201cIt is our duty to protect the rights of the people we represent, and the right to self-defense is paramount.
