Cuomo, the CNN anchor\u2019s older brother,\u201d reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/cnn-chris-cuomo-media-connections-sniff-around-ronan-farrow\">Fox News<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChris Cuomo admitted to contacting colleagues of Farrow for updates but claimed it was simply \u2018business-as-usual\u2019 to employ such methods,\u201d Fox\u2019s report continued. \u201cText messages released by state investigators showed top Andrew Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa asking about \u2018intel\u2019 the CNN anchor had about Farrow\u2019s report on March 15, to which he replied it wasn\u2019t ready for publication. Farrrow\u2019s story was eventually published on March 18. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>Text messages in the exchange include, \u201cIf ronan has nothing better than thats a great sign,\u201d \u201cTo discuss rownan [sic] convo,\u201d and \u201cDid u get any more intel?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Fox News noted, Cuomo\u2019s admission apparently contradicts what he told CNN viewers in August when he claimed, \u201cI never made calls to the press about my brother\u2019s situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the recently-released <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.ny.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2021.07.15_christopher_cuomo_cleary_11.24.2021_0.pdf\">transcript<\/a>, an attorney asked Chris Cuomo if he recalled Governor Cuomo\u2019s team discussing Farrow\u2019s article.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were very concerned and it kept moving. What they thought it was about was moving, when it was coming out was moving,\u201d Cuomo said. \u201cWhen Ronan Farrow writes something, people in the media are going to talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked whether he discussed Farrow\u2019s reporting with his brother, Chris Cuomo replied, \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust asking him, you know, how he \u2014 how he felt about it, what was in it. And him asking me what did I think the impact of it was,\u201d Cuomo said when asked to elaborate further. \u201cHe said that he didn\u2019t think the article was fair, that she was being propped up and \u2014 you know, that\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CNN host then confirmed the \u2018she\u2019 he referenced was Lindsey Boylan, the subject of the March 18, 2021, piece written by Farrow in which she gave her first extensive interview about her claims of harassment and retaliation by the now-former governor,\u201d Fox added. \u201cBoylan\u2019s allegation made to Farrow in the New Yorker came months after her initial tweet that then-Gov. Cuomo \u2018sexually harassed me for years.\u2019 Following that accusation, multiple other women came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo was then asked what he meant by the March 2021 text, \u201cIf Ronan has nothing better \u2014 better than Boylan, that\u2019s a great sign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe concern was that Ronan always has more people. You know, I mean, that\u2019s part of his currency as a journalist, is that people come to him to expand understandings. I know he has his critics. But, to me, that\u2019s when he\u2019s at his best,\u201d Cuomo said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the assumption was he must have new people if he\u2019s waiting so long to have written about this. And then he didn\u2019t. So, what the context is specifically is: I had heard that all he was writing \u2014 the only person he was writing about was Lindsey Boylan,\u201d Cuomo continued. \u201cSo that means that he didn\u2019t find more people to complain that, once again, I would have to experience this team being shocked that there was another person. Which was this never ending cycle that was very hard for a family member. That was the context.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After saying he didn\u2019t recall any further such conversations, an attorney argued that Cuomo was asked whether there was \u201cany more intel\u201d three days before Farrow\u2019s story was published, with the transcript showing he responded, \u201cStory not ready for tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey didn\u2019t know when the Ronan piece was coming out. So I just asked people, did you hear about when the Ronan piece \u2014 we do this with him all the time. It\u2019s a really good device that he has, that his people let you know that something\u2019s coming, but they don\u2019t tell you when,\u201d CNN\u2019s Cuomo said. \u201cYou know, so that there\u2019s this \u2014 this constant speculation game. It\u2019s really effective in driving interest for his articles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo then admitted that he contacted Farrow\u2019s colleagues for information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI called a fellow journalist who works with Ronan a lot. And I didn\u2019t want to contact Ronan directly. I know him. He\u2019s \u2014 he\u2019s been good to me. He\u2019s been on my show. But I didn\u2019t want to \u2014 I didn\u2019t want to push up on him like that.
