(AP Photo\/Florian Schroetter, FILE)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 10:53 AM PT \u2013 Monday, November 29, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>According to Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh, bilateral talks with the U.S. are out of the question unless government officials give on sanctions.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">\u201cWe rightly withdrew from the JCPOA as it provided a clear pathway for <\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-b88u0q r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Iran<\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"> to develop a <\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-b88u0q r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">nuclear<\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"> weapon,\u201d noted Trump-era Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. \u201cWe kept <\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-b88u0q r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Iran<\/span><span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\"> under max pressure while fostering new relationships among those who partnered with us. Now, the Biden administration wants to re-enter the JCPOA.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ahead of the meeting between world leaders Monday, the spokesman said a direct meeting with the U.S. delegation to discuss reinstating the failed 2015 nuclear deal wouldn\u2019t happen. Western diplomats argue the demands laid out by Iran are unrealistic, but Tehran does not appear to be budging in negotiations.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cIf the U.S. comes to the negotiating table to remove sanctions, to truly remove sanctions, it can definitely get the go-ahead to return to the JCPOA discussion room,\u201d Khatibzadeh stated. \u201cIf not, it will need to stay away from the JCPOA negotiating table as it has been doing.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Six rounds of indirect talks regarding the nuclear deal between April and June proved unsuccessful.
