On November 27, for example, Breitbart News reported Swedish pro-transgender doctors caused serious injuries to many kids: \u201cIt\u2019s chemical castration. It can affect mental health in a way that you didn\u2019t think of and didn\u2019t want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That coverage has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2021\/11\/08\/poll-shows-transgender-ideology-losing-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">helped ordinary Americans debate<\/a> the issue, and to pass laws in state legislatures that protect K-12 children from transgenderism in school sports.<\/p>\n<p>But elitist progressives in the media, in activist groups, and in universities have suppressed the scientific, medical and political debate because of their contempt for ordinary Americans.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Post<\/em>\u2018s surprising approval of the critical op-ed by two pro-transgender activists may allow progressives to admit the damage being caused to their own children. The two authors wrote:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote readability=\"13.530726256983\">\n<p>The constituency of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/genspect.org\/\">agitated parents&nbsp;<\/a>who feel excluded is also growing rapidly. These are not conservative evangelicals who don\u2019t believe trans people exist or deserve treatment. They\u2019re usually progressive, educated, loving people who all say,&nbsp;<i>If our kid is really trans, we\u2019ll fully support them. We just want to be as sure as possible, and we can\u2019t find a provider who will actually engage in gender exploring therapy. Instead, doctors and psychologists and social workers are ready to start hormones after one short visit.<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2021\/11\/neil-story-main.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18927290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/neil-story-main-768x1024-1.jpg\" alt width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many children who claim transgender status are seeking a sexless refuge from the shock of puberty, from porn-twisted teenage attitudes, and from the progressives\u2019 reckless destruction of the civic rules that once protected children from pressure for early sexual activity. Also, many of the kids who are pulled into lifetime cycles of transgender medical treatments are sexual minorities who would otherwise grow up to be lesbian or gay.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>But the two authors are only trying to rein in professional abuses that threaten their business and advocacy, not to argue against transgender demands.<\/p>\n<p>The two <em>Washington Post<\/em> authors continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"24.352678571429\">\n<p>Slowing down the [rush by some young people to hormone use and cosmetic surgery] and encouraging deeper, thoughtful exploration is considered, many [pro-transgender professionals] tell us, unnecessary and unaffirming. Providers may also be afraid of being cast as transphobic bigots by their local colleagues and referral sources if they engage in gender exploring therapy with patients, as some have equated this with conversion therapy. We\u2019ve personally experienced this backlash at professional conferences.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p>When working in gender clinics, we\u2019ve also both received letters from therapists who had \u201cassessed\u201d patients they were referring to us. An astonishing number of these were nothing but a paragraph that stated the youth identified as trans, had dysphoria and wanted hormones, so that course was recommended.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/60-minutes-transgender-health-care-issues-2021-05-23\/?intcid=CNM-00-10abd1h\">pressure&nbsp;<\/a>by activist medical and mental health providers, along with some national LGBT organizations to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/glaad\/status\/1396665053227651072?s=21\">silence&nbsp;<\/a>the voices of detransitioners [people who give up their transgender claims] and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitchy.com\/sarahd-313035\/2021\/05\/24\/aclu-lawyer-and-trans-activist-chase-strangio-slams-60-minutes-for-giving-people-who-regret-transitioning-a-chance-to-tell-their-stories-video\/\">sabotage&nbsp;<\/a>the discussion around what is occurring in the field is unconscionable.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The oped was published as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/health\/2021\/11\/08\/poll-shows-transgender-ideology-losing-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent polls<\/a> showed growing public opposition to demands by transgender activists \u2014 and by growing evidence that damaged kids may soon start suing the doctors and activists who approved the transgender treatments.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>In general transgender activists demand Americans should surrender their recognition that men and women are biologically different, and instead agree people should be treated as whatever sex they prefer that day.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"video-src-attr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/author\/matt-perdie\/\">Matt Perdie<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In contrast, most Americans say the male-or-female biological differences are inescapable, complementary, valuable, and must be recognized by the nation\u2019s culture and laws.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Americans are trying to protect single-sex sports, bathing facilities, spas, toilets, jails from the elite support for transgenderism.<\/p>\n<p>This elite support in government and the media for transgenderism has encouraged activists to insist that children, men, and women be freely allowed to change their legal sex, regardless of damage to society, ordinary Americans, or even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/11\/26\/transgender-over-26000-women-girls-seek-funds-for-breast-removal-at-gofundme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to the kids<\/a> who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/09\/06\/survey-transgenders-cut-98-percent-of-romantic-options\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claim to be transgender<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.1538461538462\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I can\u2019t watch this.
