autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said the individual got into the compartment to \u201cevade detection.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Once medical staff evaluated the man, he was transported to a hospital to receive treatment, a news release said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">According to border patrol agents, \u201cPersons are taking extreme risks when they try to conceal themselves in confined spaces such as an aircraft.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">Authorities said the incident is currently being investigated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">The flight was American Airlines number 1182, and the airline <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2021\/11\/27\/authorities-investigate-whether-man-came-from-wheel-well-of-airplane-that-had-just-arrived-to-miami-from-mexico\/\">told<\/a> Local 10 News the aircraft \u201cwas met by law enforcement due to a security issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">The airline is now cooperating with local authorities but did not provide more information.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">Meanwhile,&nbsp;Saman Gonzalez, an attorney who has practiced immigration law for the past 18 years, told the outlet she never witnessed such an incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 cynzxG\">\u201cThis is quite a miraculous story for this man to put himself in such a dangerous situation,\u201d the attorney commented.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 cynzxG\">Gonzalez also explained the man will probably be classified as a stowaway, which meant his only chance of staying in the United States was to win a potential asylum case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 cynzxG\">\u201cOnce he asks for asylum and specifically states there is a fear of returning to his country, he will be designated a credible fear interview,\u201d Gonzalez noted.<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Man apprehended after emerging from wheel well of airplane\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uNDOYMbE1ds?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 cynzxG\">However, if the man was not given asylum, he will be returned to Guatemala in the near future at the expense of the airline, according to Gonzalez.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 cynzxG\">\u201cTechnically, they are supposed to be returned to their country at the cost of the carrier,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-bdVaJa dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-2 cynzxG\">In April, Sen.
