In 2017, Kanter had his Turkish passport canceled while traveling overseas and his father was briefly imprisoned by the Turkish government. Kanter <a href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/news\/lebron-james-will-not-give-my-energy-to-enes-kanters-criticism-of-him-nike\/sRVyXTXslPNH\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">recently took aim at LeBron James\u2019 relationship with Nike<\/a> and the company\u2019s alleged forced labor practices in China.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kanter hasn\u2019t confined his protests against communist China or Nike or LeBron to mere words, either.
