Now the idea is gaining traction in the UK, but it comes at a time where the official opposition party seems as far away from power as ever.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The left-wing Labour Party already suffered its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/12\/12\/corbyn-will-not-stand-next-election-crushing-defeat\/\">worst election defeat<\/a> since 1935 in the December 2019 General Election, after&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/labour.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Real-Change-Labour-Manifesto-2019.pdf\">promising<\/a> to&nbsp;\u201cestablish safe and legal routes for asylum seekers\u201d. People will not believe that when thousands of migrants are turning up on beaches in Kent every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>After the migrant deaths, MPs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/france-is-not-doing-enough-to-stop-migrants-crossing-the-channel-says-boris-johnson-565vdgx9b\">divulged<\/a> to the newspaper that Johnson was warned the out-of-control migrant crisis \u201cis something that is going to be a vote loser\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Farage had put pressure on the Tories before, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/politics\/2014\/may\/26\/ukip-european-elections-political-earthquake\">rising popularity<\/a> of the Eurosceptic party at the time, UKIP, in the first decade of the new millennium forcing the notionally conservative and Europhile Prime Minister David Cameron to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-politics-21148282\">promise<\/a> a referendum on EU membership in 2013, in a bid to keep UKIP out of the Commons. Days before the elections, Theresa May <a href=\"http:\/\/breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/05\/24\/finally-uk-prime-minister-theresa-may-announces-resignation-after-three-year-brexit-failure\/\">resigned<\/a>, in part likely due to dire polling ahead of the European vote but also her inability to pass her soft Brexit deal through the House of Commons.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson could yet be a Farage trophy, when this week, the Brexit leader&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/11\/23\/nigel-farage-threatens-return-to-politics-if-bojo-cant-solve-out-of-control-migrant-crisis\/\">said<\/a> he had not ruled out a return to frontline politics if the prime minister can\u2019t get to grips with the Channel migrant crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Farage continued: \u201cJohnson is ultimately responsible for guarding his people\u2026 This is the sacred duty of any prime minister. It should override all others.
