I can\u2019t tell you how much I appreciate it,\u201d Wright told the outlet. \u201cIt\u2019s been leaking for quite a bit, couple of years now, at least.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Video footage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=latC853mArw\">showed<\/a> crews working around piles of supplies and ladders leaning up against the house:<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Veteran Gets Free Roof Just In Time For Thanksgiving\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/latC853mArw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Guardian Roofs began working early Tuesday with materials given by Owens Corning, which is part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project that was launched to honor local veterans.<\/p>\n<p>More than 300 servicemembers have benefited so far.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to do something for them,\u201d Rolandro Moriega of Owens Corning, stated. \u201cThey served time. They did something for us, and we need to give back to the community. This is a great project for that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to its Facebook page, San Diego Habitat for Humanity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sandiegohabitat\/about\/?ref=page_internal\">works<\/a> to bring citizens together to \u201cbuild homes, communities, and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe strengthen communities and transform lives by building new homes, rehabilitating existing homes, and making affordable homeownership a reality,\u201d the page read.<\/p>\n<p>ABC 10 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9Q9QIaxiubQ\">shared<\/a>&nbsp;footage of the ceiling damage from leaks inside the veteran\u2019s house.<\/p>\n<p>However, Moriega said Wright\u2019s roof would be finished in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be able to give back and make a safe, livable house for those who make a safe, livable community and country for us is something that we\u2019re very excited to do,\u201d Joe Bick of Habitat for Humanity explained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A local business in California is showing appreciation for servicemembers through a project on the home of a United States Navy veteran.
