not like \u201cpink ribbons and dollies\u201d are being treated as transgender by the UK\u2019s socialised healthcare system, a whistleblower has said.<\/p>\n<p>Dr David Bell, a former governor at the&nbsp;Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, has stated that girls who exhibit behaviour such as not liking pink ribbons and dollies are being treated as Transgender by the UK\u2019s National Health Service (NHS).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Based in North London,&nbsp;the&nbsp;Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust houses the&nbsp;Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS), the only gender identity clinic in the UK for those under the age of 18.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a focus on very, very superficial surface phenomena and lack of probing,\u201d Dr Bell said during a conference on Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/tInYPMCHOzo\">held<\/a> by umbrella group Genspect on Sunday. \u201cMany young people, who are unwilling or unable\u2026 to conform to gender stereotypes\u2026 are misunderstood as being transgender.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr Bell went on to say that the clinic\u2019s medical interventions do not support \u201cfluidity\u201d, but are instead being based on an understanding of gender with a \u201ccaricaturistic\u201d quality.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThat is, if you don\u2019t like pink ribbons and dollies, you\u2019re not really a girl,\u201d Dr Bell told the conference.<\/p>\n<p>This lack of sceptical analysis, Dr Bell argued, means there is \u201cvirtually no psychological scrutiny at all\u201d for children who are being put on a track towards surgery as soon as they turn 18.<\/p>\n<p>This is particularly important, Dr Bell told the conference, as \u201c98 per cent of pubertal children progress from so-called puberty blockers and on to sex hormones, and thus starting them on puberty blockers is putting them on the road to opposite-sex hormones and to surgery\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Bell also expressed worry at what he said was the \u201crecruitment of staff with very low levels of clinical knowledge and skill, particularly in regards to complex disorders in childhood and adolescence\u201d, as well as the influence of \u201cpowerful politicised lobbies\u201d, citing Mermaids and Stonewall as examples.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe staff had a great fear of being called transphobic\u2026 There were staff who were taken off cases because they were worried that the child was gay, and they were told that they were just causing difficulties and were taken off the case,\u201d Dr Bell stated.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Bell also talked about how some parents of children with gender dysphoria, seeking closure and an end to their children\u2019s difficulties, are \u201cintransigent if any doubts are raised\u201d, while others are \u201cthreatened or marginalised\u201d should they themselves express any doubt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGender services tend towards a very damaging, peculiar, superficial simplification,\u201d Dr Bell concluded, calling the Tavistock a \u201cgateway to puberty blockers\u201d that was being enabled by various lobbying groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlignment with affirmative lobbies, that is lobbies that seek to affirm the wish to change gender, tending to see it only as a positive choice to be encouraged, acts as an ideological support for this simplification,\u201d Dr Bell said.<\/p>\n<p>Both the&nbsp;Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and the GIDS have come under scrutiny in the past.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2020\/03\/03\/woman-rushed-into-gender-reassignment-teen-suing-nhs\/\">Keira Bell<\/a> took the Tavistock&nbsp;and Portman NHS Foundation Trust to court, claiming that the GIDS service had rushed her into transitioning, which Ms Bell now describes as something she seriously regrets.<\/p>\n<p>The case resulted in the High Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/12\/01\/u-k-s-high-court-rules-children-under-16-cannot-make-wise-decisions-hormone-treatments-alter-biological-sex\/\">ruling<\/a> that children under the age of 16 could not be given puberty blockers without first getting authorisation from the court, though the ruling was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/09\/18\/english-court-appeal-rules-doctors-can-put-children-trans-drugs\/\">overturned<\/a> in September this year..<\/p>\n<blockquote
