Once Christopher came into the fold in 2017, they realized there was another family member in their midst.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHe was such a part of our family, loved by so many people. It wasn\u2019t our plan, it was something we knew in our hearts that it was the right way to go,\u201d Dave Kurt explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span> \u201cWe are back to finding babysitters that we never knew would need it again,\u201d said Kathie.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Judge Kameisha Gant and Michigan Supreme Court Justice Megan Cavanagh presided over Christopher\u2019s virtual adoption hearing, WXYZ reported.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cYou are a gift to each other, thank you for opening your hearts and your home,\u201d said Cavanagh.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cLet me be the first to say congratulations to this family,\u201d Gant told the Kurts.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Judge Gant shared WXYZ\u2019s story to her Facebook page and shared her delight in presiding over the adoption.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>\u201cPresiding over the finalization of the adoption of this adorable little boy into this loving family was an exciting and emotional experience for all,\u201d Gant\u2019s post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kameshia.gant\/posts\/10223459242201997\">reads<\/a>. \u201cThank you Justice Megan Cavanagh for participating and making it extra special.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-post\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kameshia.gant\/posts\/10223459242201997\" data-width=\"640\" readability=\"25.639664804469\">\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/1016322854\/posts\/10223459242201997\/\" class=\"fb-xfbml-parse-ignore\" readability=\"7.6536312849162\">\n<p>Today is Michigan Adoption Day. In 2017 WXYZ reported on a Detroit drug bust in which seven kids, including Christopher, were found living in deplorable conditions.<\/p>\n<p><span> \u201cNo food, no water, the kids didn\u2019t look to be in good condition, there was actually dog feces all around,\u201d Detroit Police Department Sgt.
