Jon Tester of Montana, Mark Warner of Virginia, Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, Jon Hickenlooper of Colorado and Mark Kelly of Arizona told the White House they would not support Saule Omarova\u2019s nomination to head the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/democrats-omarova-occ-5755a0e4-c6a5-4ca7-b6c7-87d18d5491f9.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to Axios.<\/p>\n<p>Without the support of all 50 Senate Democrats, it would be almost impossible for Omarova to be confirmed. The White House said Wednesday it would continue to support the nominee amid growing concerns from key Senate Democrats saying the criticism resembles that of the McCarthy era.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe White House continues to strongly support her historic nomination,\u201d a White House official told Axios.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSaule Omarova is eminently qualified for this position,\u201d the official added. \u201cShe has been treated unfairly since her nomination with unacceptable red-baiting from Republicans like it\u2019s the McCarthy era.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saule <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/19\/saule-omarova-joe-biden-comptroller-currency-marco-rubio-communist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Omarova<\/a> was born in the Soviet Union and attended Moscow State University, where she wrote a senior thesis titled \u201cKarl Marx\u2019s Economic Analysis and the Theory of Revolution in the Capital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She called the financial services sector a \u201cquintessential asshole industry\u201d and has been on record saying she wants to \u201cend banking as we know it\u201d by advocating for private bank accounts administered by the Federal Reserve. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/24\/jamie-dimon-jp-morgan-china-joke-outlast-ccp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: JP Morgan Exec Bows To China After Joking His Bank Will Outlast The CCP)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a book titled \u201cThe Seven Sins of Wall Street: Big Banks, Their Washington Lackeys, and the Next Financial Crisis,\u201d Omarova was quoted praising Marxist policies, saying they changed her world view, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported.<\/p>\n<p>Omarova, a law professor at Cornell,&nbsp; was slammed by Senate Republicans during her confirmation hearing on Nov. 19.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"10.230452674897\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Saule Omarova is a Marxist who robbed a T.J. Maxx. John Kennedy <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/18\/saule-omarova-john-kennedy-marxist-communisty-nominee-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blasted<\/a> Omarova during her hearing when pressed about her ties to Marxism and communist-related youth groups, saying, \u201cI don\u2019t know whether to call you professor or comrade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Omarova responded to Kennedy\u2019s remarks, saying she is not a communist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, I am not a communist, I do not subscribe to that ideology, I could not choose where I was born, I do not remember joining any Facebook group that subscribes to that ideology, I would never knowingly join any such group,\u201d Omarova said responding to Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Florida Sen.
