O\u2019Connor, physician to the president, wrote in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/21117967-biden-health-memo\">memo<\/a> released by the White House.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Routine surveillance, which normally calls for another colonoscopy in seven to 10 years, was recommended, he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Biden was placed under anesthesia during last week\u2019s examination, as Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/joe-biden-briefly-transferring-power-to-vp-during-routine-colonoscopy\/\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The hospital visit was part of his first annual physical exam in office at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Maryland, requiring Vice President Kamala Harris to become the first woman to hold presidential authority as he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/19\/joe-biden-transfers-power-to-kamala-harris-during-colonoscopy\/\">underwent<\/a> the routine procedure.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.0952380952381\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">President Joe Biden will transfer power to Vice President Kamala Harris while he undergoes a colonoscopy, the White House announced. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YbCR2vhndl\">https:\/\/t.co\/YbCR2vhndl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1461714920085626882?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 19, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Mayo Clinic defines a colon polyp as a small clump of cells that forms on the lining of the colon.
