Greg Steube (R-FL) reacted to the Biden administration releasing 50 billion barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as part of an effort to bring down high gas prices.<\/p>\n<p>Fox Business Network \u201cMornings with Maria\u201d host Maria Bartiromo asked Steube about Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm being unaware of how much oil was consumed in the United States on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOne of the most basic pieces of information that you think that the energy secretary would know, which shows you that she absolutely doesn\u2019t care,\u201d Steube replied.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Steube described the administration\u2019s decision to release oil ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday as a \u201ctemporary band-aid.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]his is a strategic failure by the Biden administration,\u201d he advised. \u201cThey\u2019re the ones that shut down domestic production of oil, they\u2019re the ones that shut down our own pipelines, and now they\u2019re begging OPEC to open up production and increase production to lower the gas prices that we\u2019re experiencing here in the United States, all because of the decisions that they\u2019ve made, and now, a temporary band-aid of 50 million barrels of oil. That\u2019s only three days\u2019 worth of gas to America. Three days. That\u2019s only a temporary fix for what we\u2019re experiencing here.
